TYPE LOCALITY: Argentina, right bank of Rio Paraguay .

DISTRIBUTION: Bolivia south of Rio Madre de Dios, south to Paraguay and N Argentina.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix II.

SYNONYMS: boliviensis Elliot, 1907 ; miriquouina .

COMMENTS: The form of this name is changed in accordance with Art. 31 (a(ii)) of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1985)
