DISTRIBUTION: NE and NW Madagascar (discontinuous).

STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered.

SYNONYMS: daubentonii, laniger , psilodactylus , robusta.

COMMENTS: The form robusta may be a distinct species.
