TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, W Java .

DISTRIBUTION: W and C Java.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix II; IUCN - Endangered.

SYNONYMS: aygula , various authors, fredericae.

COMMENTS: Formerly called P. aygula , but see Napier and Groves (1983) who showed that aygula is a nomen oblitum for Macaca fascicularis .
