TYPE LOCALITY: Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Rio San Miguel, Guarayos Mission .

DISTRIBUTION: Upper Amazon in Peru; SW Brazil; Bolivia.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix II.

SYNONYMS: entomophagus , jaburuensis, peruviensis, pluvialis.

COMMENTS: Separated from S. sciureus by Hershkovitz (1984).
