Bakerdania peritremata Mahunka, 1979, p. 147 , Figs 14 View FIGURE 14 A-G.

Pseudopygmephorus peritrematus: Khaustov 2010, p. 262 .

Redescription. FEMALE ( Figs 11–15 View FIGURE 11 View FIGURE 12 View FIGURE 13 View FIGURE 14 View FIGURE 15 ). Length of idiosoma 180–205, width 115–125.

Gnathosoma ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 ). Gnathosomal capsule almost round in outline, length 22, width 21. Dorsum with two pairs of cheliceral setae cha 8 and chb 16. Setae chb weakly barbed, other gnathosomal setae smooth. Setae cha, dFe and pp blunt-ended, other gnathosomal setae pointed. Dorsal median apodeme present, weakly developed. Postpalpal setae (pp) situated anterolaterally to setae cha. Ventral gnathosoma with one pair of setae m 7 and round pits situated posteriorly to m. Palpi with setae dFe and dGe dorsolaterally; setae dGe distinctly longer than dFe. Palpi ventrally each with mushroom-like ass and small solenidion laterally to ass. Palpi terminated with small tibial claw and tiny eupathidium-like seta; palpal tibiotarsus usually completely covered by anterior part of femorogenu. Pharyngeal pumps separated, transversely striated; pharyngeal pump 1 small, butterfly-like, situated inside gnathosoma; pharyngeal pumps 2 and 3 oval, pump 3 slightly larger than pump 2.

Idiosomal dorsum ( Figs 11A View FIGURE 11 , 15A View FIGURE 15 ). Only posterior part of prodorsum covered by anterior part of tergite C. All dorsal shields with numerous tiny, barely discernable dimples ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ). Prodorsal shield with two pair of setae (v 2, sc 2), one pair of weakly barbed capitate trichobothria and one pair of elongate and constricted in central part stigmata ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); trichobothria with delicate longitudinal striation in distal half. Stigmata associated with well developed tracheal trunks. Setae v 2 smooth, other dorsal setae barbed. Setae v 2 needle-like and stiff, setae sc 2, c 2 e and h 1 pointed, other dorsal setae blunt-ended. Cupules ia on tergite D and ih on tergite H small, round. Posterior margin of tergite H with short tongue-like median projection. Lengths of dorsal setae: v 2 11–14, sc 2 41–45, c 1 26– 28, c 2 45–48, d 30–34, e 27–33, f 39–44, h 1 40–46, h 2 23–24. Distances between setae: v 2 –v 2 28–30, sc 2 –sc 2 24–26, c 1 – c 1 37–40, c 1 – c 2 22–25, d–d 42–46, e–f 9–12, f–f 40–42, h 1 – h 1 23–26, h 1 – h 2 15–17.

Idiosomal venter ( Figs 11B View FIGURE 11 , 15B, C View FIGURE 15 ). All ventral plates with numerous tiny dimples ( Fig. 15B View FIGURE 15 ). Setae ps 3 bluntended, other ventral setae pointed. Setae 1 b thickened and flattened. Setae 3 a, 3 c, 4 a, 4 c smooth, other ventral setae barbed. Ap1, ap2 and apsej well developed and joined with appr; ap3 indistinct; ap4 well developed, reaching to bases of setae 3 b. Apodemes 5 absent. Ags bell-like, pgs large, elongate-triangular, mgs small, oval. Posterior margin of posterior sternal plate tripartite. Posterior margin of aggenital plate rounded. Setae ps 2 absent ( Fig. 15C View FIGURE 15 ). Lengths of ventral setae: 1 a 21–24, 1 b 21–22, 2 a 27–32, 2 b 25–27, 3 a 24–25, 3 b 23–26, 3 c 18–21, 4 a 23–27, 4 b 31–36, 4 c 24–28, ps 1 20–21, ps 3 15–16.

Legs ( Figs 13 View FIGURE 13 , 14 View FIGURE 14 ). Leg I ( Fig. 13A View FIGURE 13 ) distinctly thicker than leg II. Setal formula: 1–3–4–16 (4). Tibiotarsus enlarged, with massive blunt-ended claw. Setae tc’ and tc” situated on short and wide pinnaculum. Solenidion ω 1 completely fused with tibiotarsus forming sensory pit, other solenidia weakly clavate. Lengths of solenidia ω 1 10– 11, ω 2 5–6, φ 1 9, φ 2 5–6. Seta d of femur hook-like; seta pl’ of tarsus smooth and attenuated, other setae (except eupathidia) pointed and barbed. Leg II ( Fig.13B View FIGURE 13 ). Setal formula: 1–3–3–4(1)–6(1). Tarsus with thickened padded claws and flipper-like empodium. Solenidia ω 7 and φ 4 clavate. Seta tc” of tarsus smooth, other setae barbed; seta u’ of tarsus blunt-ended, other setae pointed. Leg III ( Fig. 14A View FIGURE 14 ). Femur divided into basi- and telofemur. Setal formula: 1–2–2–4(1)–6. Claws and empodium of same shape as on tarsus II. Solenidia φ 4 weakly clavate Seta tc” of tarsus smooth, other setae barbed; setae d of femur and u’ of tarsus blunt-ended, other setae pointed. Leg IV ( Fig 14B View FIGURE 14 ). Femur divided into basi- and telofemur. Setal formula: 1–2–1–4(1)–6. Claws simple, hooked, empodium slightly smaller than on tarsi II and III. Solenidion φ 4 weakly clavate. All setae barbed. Setae d of femur and v” of tibia blunt-ended, other setae pointed.

MALE and LARVA unknown.

Material examined. BURKINA FASO: 11 females on Orphnus macleayi Laporte de Castelnau and 1 female on Orphnus subfoveatus Fairmaire, Ouagadougou , 6.VI.1927, G. Olsoufieff leg.

Remarks. Pseudopygmephorus peritrematus ( Mahunka, 1979) was described from South Africa ( Mahunka 1979). Examined specimens from Burkina Faso matched the original description of P. peritrematus and are undoubtedly conspecific with it.
