Genus Kretania Beuret View in CoL View at ENA

( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 E, F)

Kretania hesperica (Rambur) , that was previously considered a species of the genus Plebejus , has been assigned recently to this genus ( Talavera et al. 2013). The micropylar rosette has three of four petals and three micropyle pores in the observed specimens. The rest of the annular zone has cells with elongated ridges. The transition zone is wide and has polygonal cells with a rough spongy surface. The rest of the egg comprises the tubercle-aeropyle zone, with tetragonal cells which form a network in which the nodes show oval tubercles, or in the form of a ribbed tower.
