Scheerpeltz, 1956: 22 ( Hesperus , type locality: Natal); Herman, 2001a: 2686 ( Hesperus , catalog); Herman, 2001b ( Hesperus , new synonym); Hromádka, 2010: 497 (transferred to Pseudohesperus , characters); Newton, 2015: 14 (transferred to Eccoptolonthus , catalog).

Syn.: Hesperus natalensis Scheerpeltz, 1971: 188 (preoccupied, type locality: Süd-Afrika, Natal); Herman, 2001a: 2686 ( Hesperus , catalog); Herman, 2001b: 25 (same species as Hesperus natalensis Scheerpeltz, 1956 , synonym).

Distribution. South Africa.
