Type species.

Babia elongata Guérin, 1945. By monotypy.

Diagnosis.

This subgenus can be reliably diagnosed by the shape of anterior margin of pronotum, which is arcuate, and covers the entire head in dorsal view. Also, body shape is elongate (length 3x width), cylindrical and flat; frons is flat; lateral margin of prothorax not widely explanate.

Distribution.

Brazil and Argentina.

Remarks.

Moldenke (1981), mentioned the size of this species to be greater than 10 mm, but average size is smaller than 10 mm.

1. Babia (Coleolacordairei) elongata Guérin, 1945 (BAS, COR, ERS, JUY, LRA, RNO, SAL, SFE, TUC). Host plant: Fabaceae : Acacia sp. ( Monrós 1953a).
