Distribution: MI to NC to south TX to NE. The two Kentucky collections of this lycid beetle mimic were from the eastern and central part of the state (Central Appalachians and Interior River Valleys and Hills ecoregions; Map 076). Kentucky counties: Breathitt (1), Edmonson (1) Years: 1907 (1), 1972 (1) Months: June (2) Collections (2 records, 2 specimens): UKIC (1), UMRM (1) Collection methods: Malaise trap (1) Larval host plants: Lithospermum ( Yanega 1996) Vernonia interior ( Monné & Nearns 2022d) Comments : A diurnal species most commonly collected by sweeping or Malaise traps.
