Distribution: NS to northern GA to eastern NE to southern MB. Kentucky specimens were collected in the eastern half of the state ( Interior Plateau and Western Allegheny Plateau; Map 010).

Adult flower hosts: Achillea , Heracleum , Hydrangea arborescens , Spiraea , Tragopogon and Viburnum ( Lingafelter 2007)
Comments: One of a handful of mostly or all black diurnal lepturines found on flowers.
