Distribution: Along the Atlantic coast from RI to south FL and west to eastern TX, with a few scattered inland records in OK, KY and northern AL. The lone Kentucky specimen was taken in the far western part of the state (Mississippi Alluvial Plain; Map 187).

Larval host plants: Acer rubrum , Annona cherimola , Bursera simaruba , Cajanus cajan , Carya illinoinensis , Celastrus orbiculatus , Celtis integrifolia , Citrus , Conocarpus erectus , Ficus spp. , Ilex , Liquidambar styraciflua , Manihot spp. , Metopium toxiferum , Mimosa , Morus rubra , Ricinus communis , Pistacia lentiscus , Rhus , Sesbania drummondii , Yucca and Zanthoxylum fagara ( Monné & Nearns 2022d)
Chemical lures: A blend of 3-hydroxyhexan-2-one + (2 R *,3 R *)-2,3-hexanediol + racemic (E)-fuscumol + racemic (E)-fuscumol acetate + monochamol + racemic 2-methylbutan-1-ol ( Hanks & Millar 2013), fuscumol + acetate and ethanol ( Millar et al. 2017)
Comments: Specimens are best collected by beating dead host plant branches or trapping with chemical lures.
