Distribution: Southern NB to GA to MS to KY. The three Kentucky specimens of this rarely collected species were collected in the central portion of the state (Map 207).

Larval host plants: Larvae have only been found feeding in Acer spp. where they induce gall formation ( Lingafelter 2007).
Comments: Adults can be collected by beating maple branches or on trunks ( Bousquet et al. 2017).

Larval host plants: Acer spp. , Betula spp. , Carya spp ., Castanea dentata , Cornus , Carpinus caroliniana , Diospyros virginiana , Fagus ferruginea , Fraxinus americana , Juglans nigra , Liquidambar styraciflua , Malus , Nyssa , Pinus contorta , Quercus spp. , Salix exigua , Tsuga canadensis and Ulmus alata ( Monné & Nearns 2022c) .
Chemical lures: 3 R *-ketone (not diols alone), fuscumol acetate, fermenting bait, ethanol, plant volatiles ( Hanks & Millar 2013) and C6-ketol and anti -C6-diol ( Millar et al. 2017)
Comments: This widespread and abundant species is attracted to lights and comes to Malaise traps.
