Distribution: Transcontinental ranging from NJ to GA to CA to southern BC and southeast to northern UT. Kentucky collections are from the middle half of the state ( Interior Plateau and Interior River Valleys and Hills ; Map 115).

Larval host plants: Acer ( Lingafelter 2007) , Carya , Celtis reticulata , Diospyros virginiana , Eucalyptus grandis , Fraxinus spp ., Juglans , Prosopis juliflora , Quercus spp. , Ulmus and Vitis . ( Monné & Nearns 2022c)
Chemical lures: 3 R *-ketone ( Hanks & Millar 2013)
Comments: This is an early spring species in Kentucky (most collections in March), but adults can be collected under the bark of their hosts in the fall where adults overwinter in their pupal chambers ( Craighead 1923).
