Distribution: VA to south FL to southern AZ to KS, with records as far south as Colombia. Most Kentucky specimens were from the southwestern quarter of the state ( Interior Plateau ; Map 094).

Larval host plants: Acer spp. , Alnus , Bumelia lanuginosa , Bursera simaruba , Carya , Celtis laevigata , Ficus , Inga , Liquidambar styraciflua , Morus , Platanus spp. , Salix and Ulmus crassifolia ( Monné & Nearns 2022a) and Quercus and Sideroxylon lanuginosa ( Lingafelter 2007)
Chemical lures: reported that 2-methylhexacosane (2Me-C 26) and 2-methyloctacosane (2Me-C 28) are femaleproduced sex pheromones that attract males
