Distribution: MA to northern GA to WI. Kentucky collections are all from the northeastern part of the state (Western Allegheny Plateau; Map 206).

Larval host plants: Larval hosts are reported to include Quercus ( Linsley & Chemsak 1976) , however, this needs to be confirmed ( Bousquet et al. 2017)
Adult flower hosts: Ceanothus , Cornus , Hydrangea arborescens , Tragopogon , Viburnum ( Lingafelter 2007)
and Castanea ( Bousquet et al. 2017)
Comments: Adults are diurnal and found on flowers.
