Distribution: VT to northern GA to eastern NM to southern SK. Kentucky specimens are from widely separated localities in the Interior Plateau and Southwestern Appalachians ecoregions (Map 201).

Larval host plants: Andropogon scoparius , Pascopyrum smithii , Sorghastrum airoides and Sporobolus airoides ( Bousquet et al. 2017)
Adult flower hosts: Aster , Cirsium , Coreopsis , Helianthus , Rhus , Rudbeckia , Solidago ( Lingafelter 2007) and Ceanothus ( Bousquet et al. 2017)
Comments: Adults are diurnal and found on flowers.
