Type Locality: Argentina, Formosa, "Riacho Pilago, 10 miles [16 km] northwest of Kilometro 182.
Vernacular Names: Pygmy Opossum.
Synonyms: Gracilinanus muscula (Shamel 1930) .
Distribution: Known only from the type locality in Formosa Province, Argentina.
Discussion: Included in agilis (Burmeister) by Gardner (1993); placement in Gracilinanus tentative and problematic.
