Berries pyriform, 1.0–2.5 × 1.2–1.4 cm, spongy, not inflated, pink, glabrous, crowned by the persistent but not accrescent calyx lobes.

Phenology: — Burmeistera serraniaguae sets flowers and fruits throughout most of the year.

Following the IUCN (2022) Guidelines, this species qualifies for the Near Threatened (NT) category.

Notes: — Burmeistera serraniaguae is similar to B. succulenta , from which it differs by the hypanthium 5–7 × 4–5 mm; the calyx lobes 1–2 mm wide; the corolla with tube 2–3 mm diam. at its mid-level, dorsal lobes 11–15 × 2–4 mm, lateral lobes 7–9 × 4–6 mm, and ventral lobe 6–8 × 1.5–2.5 mm; and the synandrium exserted up to 1.8 cm, with anther tube 5–6 mm long (versus the hypanthium 8–14 × 5–9 mm; the calyx lobes 2–3(–4) mm wide; the corolla with tube 4–5 mm in diameter at its mid-level, dorsal lobes 15–25 × 3–5 mm, lateral lobes 14–20 × 3–5 mm, and ventral lobe 12–16 × 2.8–3.0 mm; and the synandrium exserted up to 2.4 cm, with anther tube 10–12 mm long in B. succulenta ).
