Type Locality: N Israel, Mt Carmel, Muhraka.
Vernacular Names: Mt Carmel Blind Mole Rat.
Distribution: Recorded from Kabri, Zippori, Mt Carmel, and Afiq in N Israel south of ranges of S. galili and S. golani (see Nevo et al., 2001:19).
Discussion: Member of the S. ehrenbergi superspecies in Israel with 2n = 58 ( Nevo et al., 2001). See account of S. ehrenbergi .
