Description of Agromyces cerinus subsp. cerinus MMD View in CoL 3Y-10-4

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, convex and pale yellow-colored after 3 days on marine agar at 30° C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for nitrate reduction, arginine dihydrolase, glucose fermentation, urease, gelatinase and indole production. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, malic acid, N -acetyl-glucosamine and D-maltose are utilized. Does not utilize D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, trisodium citrate, capric acid, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid. Strain MMD3Y-10-4 (= NIBRBA 0000114276 ) has been isolated from a Ginseng cultivat- ed soil, Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, Korea .
