Positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase and β -galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase and urease. Utilize D-glucose, Dmannose, D-mannitol, D-maltose and potassium gluconate, but not utilize capric acid, but L-arabinose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
