Lectotype (Snow in Caflferty & al. in Taxon 49: 250. 2000): Hasselquist, Herb. Linn. No. 92.20, left specimen ( LINN) .

Current name: Leptochloa fusca (L.) Kunth subsp. fusca View in CoL ( Poaceae ).

Note: Although this name first appeared in Flora Palaestina: 13 (1756), it was a nomen nudum in that work, and therefore invalid. The binomial dates from 1762.
