Geographic distribution: Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Ghana, Togo, Liberia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Benin, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, People`s Republic of Congo, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Mali, Sudan, Ethiopia and Fernando Poo.
Distribution in Guinea –Bissau: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 11A, 11B, 15, 16, 18, 20, 24, 28, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37A, 42.
Specimens sampled: Buba, 5.VII.2006, 1 ɗ, 5 Ψ, “DO”, ( AS); Cufada, 17.VII.2006, 1 Ψ, “DO”, ( AS).
Remarks: A species spread throughout the western, central and southern territories of Africa. It is also a common species in Guinea-Bissau, the adults occurring at the damp edges of small ponds as well as shaded and moist paths of forests. The adults are active during the rainy and beginning of the dry seasons (Serrano 1995). In the first type of habitats it is usual to observe C. octoguttata with C. lutaria , M. flavidens and M. melancholica .
