Genus Neophyllobius Berlese
Type species: Neophyllobius elegans Berlese, 1886: 19 .
Genus diagnosis. Stylophore with 1–2 pairs of peritremes. Counts of setae and solenidia from palptrochanter to palptarsus: 0, 2, 1, 3 + 1 claw, 2 setae+1–2 eupathidia+1 solenidion. Idiosoma with 14 or 15 (pdx when present usually paired, sometimes medial and single) pairs of long, stout, serrated setae; two pairs of eyes. Ventral surface with two pairs of setae, 4 a, ag; anogenital valves with two pairs of genital setae (g1–2) and three pairs of pseudanal setae (ps1–3). Coxae I–II and coxae III–IV well separated; coxal shields smooth or reticulated; trochanters visible from dorsal view, each with one seta; genual setae usually very long and whip-like, genua I and II with a small solenidion k, genu less than one–fourth length of tibia. Setal formula of tibiae I–IV 8–9, 7–9, 7–8, 6–7; each tibia of female with a solenidion but tibia I of male with two solenidia. Setal formula of tarsi 9–10 (ω), 9–10 (ω), 7–8, 7–8; tarsi III and IV of female without solenidia but tarsi of male each with a long solenidion; tarsi I–IV with two midventral setae. All tarsi with two claws and empodium with tenent hairs.
