Type material.

ZMB 28001, two syntypes; H.H. Smith leg.

Remarks.

Martens (1893) and Strebel (1909) both based new species descriptions on material in the ZMB; Strebel had access to 14 additional specimens from the Hamburg museum when he described this taxon. The specimen figured corresponds to Strebel’s pl. 9 figs 128-129. The current systematic position is following Richardson (1993).
