Hemitrypus jordanianus , Cope, sp. nov.
No emargination between the anterior zygapophyses; neural spine directed upwards and backwards. The diapophyses vertically compressed, directed downwards, inwards, and backwards, and not giving origin to a strong ridge on the side of tlıe centrum, as is seen in the species of Scapherpeton . Neither is there any fossa on the side of the centrum as in that genus. There is a small longitudinal foramen which enters the inner base of the inferior half of the diapoplrysis. There is a low ridge on each side of the neural arch, which extends backwards and inwards. The anterior articular face is a wide oval somewhat contracted below, and is pierced by a foramen at a point within the superior third of the vertical diameter. It is not so deeply excavated as in the species of Scapherpeton . The posterior articular face is a regular vertical oval, is concave, but not excavated, as is seen in the centra of the genus just mentioned. The inferior face of the Centrum is rounded, with some feeble lateral ridges.
