Cyclocephala monacha Ratcliffe, 2008

At the San Luis de Gaceno locality, three males and seven females were found in four C. bicolor inflorescences during anthesis. In two C. bicolor inflorescences, two C. monacha individuals were found on the spadix, covered by floral exudates ( Fig. 1 View Fig ). Nothing else is known about the biology of C. monacha .

Ratcliffe (2008) described C. monacha from a single male specimen from Amazonas, Colombia. Specimens collected in this study were compared with the holotype specimen and determined to be conspecific. Cyclocephala monacha is externally similar to Cyclocephala contracta Kirsch , but is distinguished by the unique form of the parameres ( Ratcliffe 2008).
