Muscidae View in CoL View at ENA ( Figs. 114–115 View FIGURES 111–116 )
The Muscidae View in CoL comprises about 6,000 species worldwide, grouped into seven subfamilies and 180 extant genera ( Grzywacs et al. 2021). A series of changes have recently been proposed for the suprageneric classification of the family based on molecular studies ( Grzywacs et al. 2021). Several authors have recently contributed to the knowledge of families in Chile, particularly for the genera Psilochaeta Stein View in CoL and Dalcyella Carvalho ( Carvalho 1989) Apsil Malloch View in CoL ( Couri 2002, 2003); Notoschoenomyza Malloch ( Couri & Marques 2004) View in CoL , Palpibracus Rondani ( Couri & Penny 2006) View in CoL , Brachygasterina Macquart ( Couri et al. 2007) View in CoL , Coenosia Meigen View in CoL ( Couri & Salas 2010; Patitucci et al. 2020, 2021), and Helina Robineau-Desvoidy ( Patitucci et al. 2016) View in CoL . For Chile, 144 species grouped into 34 genera are listed by Carvalho et al. (2005).
