Type species: Giesbertiolus ornatus Howden , by original designation

Generic diagnosis. Pronotum with sides arcuate; disc without or with one indented, iridescent, longitudinal band; lateral borders rounded; scutellum without iridescent blotch; pygidial and anal plates with one conspicuous, transverse carina each; protibia with teeth on external border contiguous; apex of metatibia deeply emarginate, without or with at least two or three tiny spinules; sexual dimorphism evident in the coloration.
