Distribution and biology. This mainly western Palaearctic arboreal species has been reported from Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine (Crimea), Sweden, Finland, Georgia, Azerbaijan, North Korea.

Discussion. The larvae live in saline habitats and in mud along lake margins (present observations).
