Extralimital distribution: Widespread Palearctic; a Holarctic species. Biology: Jakubek (2015) (immatures); Kilian and Mądra 2015; Connior et al. (2014b) report it from the burrows of G. breviceps View in CoL in Arkansas.

= Sciodrepoides watsoni hornianus ( Blanchard, 1915) ; Jeannel 1936: 337; Hatch 1957: 43. Peck and Cook (2002) report no morphological evidence to support the subspecies status. Peck and Skelley (2001) give records from rodent burrows in IL and NE.
