Collection and habitat data.
This species occurs in moist to wet habitats such as marshes, swamps, marshy margins of lakes and ponds, and in muskrat nests. Adults have been collected by treading vegetation (floating sphagnum mats, sedges and mosses, Typha plants, reeds) into water ( Smetana 1995). In New Brunswick, adults were collected by treading vegetation along a beaver pond margin, from under drift material on a lake margin, sifting leaf litter in a silver maple swamp, and in flight during evening. Adults were collected in May and June.
