"Habitat per totam Guianam, juxta fluvios." RCN: 1710.

Neotype (Leeuwenberg in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 16. 1993): Herb. Linn. No. 298.1 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Allamanda Linnaeus.

Current name: Allamanda cathartica L. View in CoL View at ENA ( Apocynaceae ).

Note: Linnaeus spelled the generic name “Allamanda” in Mant. Pl. Altera: 146, where its description appears, but on p. 214 of the same work, A. cathartica was described, with the genus spelled “Allemanda”.
