Male: Head. Frons dark brown, broader than high (1.5:1), sub-shining, with sparse hairs. First row of bristles convex, antials about 2.5 times as far apart as either is to an antero-lateral. Second row of bristles straight, preocellars about 1.5 times as far apart as either is from a medio-lateral. Postpedicels yellowish brown, rounded-oval. Arista with relative long hairs. Palp yellow, 3 times as long as its width, with 4–5 apical bristles and 7–10 short hairs on ventral face. Thorax. Scutum yellowish brown, with sparse hairs. Scutellum yellowish brown, with 2 bristles and 2 hairs. Wing length 1.73 mm. Costal index 0.59. Costal ratios 3.86:1.68:1. Lumen of fork vein Rs much wider. Costal cilia 0.04mm. Veins brown and membrane light grey. Halter brownish yellow. Legs yellow. Fore tibia with 4 dorsal bristles, of which the upmost is the longest. Dorsal hair palisade of mid tibia extends 1/3 of its length. Hind tibia without isolated bristles before apex. Hind femur yellow, except darker at dorsal edge. Posterior face of hind femur with 5 peg-like bristles, which is relatively slender and sharply pointed. Hind coxal lobes not obvious. Abdomen. Tergites of abdomen uniformly brawn. Terminalia brown. Venter and cercus yellow.

Distribution. China (Hainan), Vietnam.

Specimen examined. 1♂, Hainan Province, Jianfeng (18°43'N, 108°48' E, 800m), 20-V-2004, Guang-Chun Liu.

Remarks. The species is characterized by slender peg-like bristles and wider fork vein Rs. The slight differences of Chinese specimen from the original description are the number of peg-like bristles on posterior face of hind femur, costal index and costal ratios.
