7. Dohrniphora setulipalpis Liu View in CoL
( Fig. 13–14 View FIGURES 9 – 16 )
Dohrniphora setulipalpis Liu, 2001:103 View in CoL .
Male: Frons width 0.63mm, broader than length, with sparse hairs. First row of bristles straight, antials further from either is to an antero-lateral. Second row of bristles concave, all four are equidistant. Flagellomere yellow, globose, slightly pointed. Pre-apical arista long, with small hairs. Palp yellow, 3 times as long as its width, with 5 apical bristles. Thorax. Scutum dark brown. Scutellum with 2 bristles and 2 short hairs, which are less than 1/2 of the bristles. Wing length 3.3mm. Costal index 0.53, Costal ratios 9.5:3.5:1. Costal cilia 0.04mm. Veins brown and membrane pale. Halter pale yellow. Legs yellowish brown. Fore tibia with 6–8 dorsal bristles, of which the upmost is the longest. Dorsal hair palisade extends up to 2/3 of tibia. Hind tibia without dorsal isolated bristles before apex. Posterior face of hind femur with about 7 peg-like bristles, in which 4 longer and 3 shorter. The bristles go around upper of microtrichia patch and arranged in arc-shaped curve, above this with 1–2 hairs on posterior face just below dorsal edge. Hind coxal lobe yellow, triangular.
Abdomen. Tergites I–II yellow on anterior half and dark brown at lateral region. Tergites II–IV dark brown. Tergite V dark brown with yellowish anterior edge. Cercus yellow. Venter yellow. Tergites II and IV long. Tergites III–V equal length. All tergites bare.
Specimen examined. 1♂ (holotype), Hainan, Mt. Jianfeng (18°43'N, 108°48' E, 850m), 5-IV-1992, Guang- Chun Liu and Min Wang. 1♂, Taiwan, Pingdong (22°41'N, 120°39' E, 220m), 30-V-2011, Xiao-Yan Liu.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Taiwan).
Remarks. The species is easily distinguished from others by S-shaped curve arrangement of peg-like bristles and dorsal hairs on posterior face of hind femur. The character of 1–3 bristle-like hairs near dorsal edge on posterior face of hind femur was ignored in original description.
