Material examined. Philippines: 1 male, Mindanao, Compostella Valley , New Leyte, coll. C.J. Uy, 22 January 2014 ( UPLBMNH) .
Distribution. Philippines.
Remarks. This species is similar to M. quinquepunctatum , which is found on the island of Sibuyan in the Philippines, but exhibits a different wing pattern. In addition, the wings of Macrostemum sp. are colourless ( Figs. 171, 172 View Figs ), whereas its phallus apex is more elongated than that of M. quinquepunctatum . This species possesses a more complicated segment X especially in the presence of bifid protrusion in the apex when viewed laterally. It is possible that the species is either new to science or a variation of M. quinquepunctatum . However, it currently remains unclear because this species is only known from a single specimen. Female of this species is so far unknown.
