Diplolaena View in CoL is monophyletic with robust support (1.00 PP, 100% JK; Fig. 1 View Fig , 3 View Fig , S 1 View Fig , S 2 View Fig ; 6 of 15 species sampled), but its relationships with other genera are inconclusive. Wilson et al. (1998) and Wilson (2013 g) indicated that most species grade into each other and offered no discussions of relationships within the genus or between it and other genera. In the combined (0.96 PP, 57% JK) and nuclear (0.99 PP, 58% JK) analyses Diplolaena View in CoL grouped with Clade 6 ( Chorilaena View in CoL + Rhadinothamnus View in CoL + Nematolepis View in CoL ) with weak support, although in the plastid analyses (0.97 PP) it was sister to an unsupported clade comprising Clade 6 and the Phebalium View in CoL + Microcybe View in CoL clade. No clear groups are identified within Diplolaena View in CoL and so no formal infrageneric taxonomy is proposed here. Diplolaena View in CoL is also discussed under Pollination below.
