Type Locality: "West Africa"; restricted by Groves (2001 c:214) to Benin, Lama Forest .

Vernacular Names: White-throated Guenon.

Subspecies: :

Subspecies Cercopithecus erythrogaster subsp. erythrogaster Gray 1866

Subspecies Cercopithecus erythrogaster subsp. pococki Grubb, Lernould and Oates 1999

Distribution: S Nigeria, both west and east of the Niger in the delta region; Benin.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Endangered as C. e. erythrogaster and C. e. pococki.

Discussion: C. cephus species group.
