Diagnosis. The new species is very similar to P. recticauda (Thomson, 1897) . It can be differentiated by the following character states in combination: temple strongly narrowed behind compound eyes; female with first metasomal tergite longitudinally striated in a coriaceous background and with a weak median dorsal carina; male with pyramid-shaped parameres ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ).

Description. Female. Body length ca. 3.00 mm, fore wing length ca. 2.50 mm.

Head: Antenna with 27 flagellomeres, first flagellomere ca. 2.30–2.40 × as long as its apical width (Lwffl= 1.9), 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th flagellomeres ca. 1.9, 1.9 and 1.8× as long as apical width, respectively, length of the rest flagellomeres gradually decreases; Face coriaceous; vertex finely coriaceous; temple strongly narrowed behind eyes.

Mesosoma: Thorax smooth; fore wing with areolet closed, vein 3 rs-m present, vein 2 rs-m 0.80× as long as 2M; propodeum with median longitudinal carina and posterior transverse carina present.

Metasoma: First metasomal tergite with a weak dorsal median carina which its apical part disappeared, coriaceous, longitudinally striated; tergite 2 on transverse, smooth; Ovp/ht= 1.30.

Color: Black species. Face and antenna brown.

Male: ( Figs. 3A–E View FIGURE 3 ). Body length ca. 3.00– 3.20 mm, fore wing length ca. 2.50 mm.

Head: Antenna with 21 flagellomeres, first flagellomere 2.50× as long as apical width (Lwffl= 2.50) ( Fig. 3E View FIGURE 3 ), all flagellomeres longer than wide; face finely striated ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ); clypeus in lateral transaction slightly concave; temple strongly narrowed behind eyes.

Mesosoma: Thorax smooth; fore wing with vein 3 rs-m present (areolet closed), vein 2 rs-m 0.8× as long as 2M ( Fig. 3D View FIGURE 3 ); propodeum smooth with a weak median dorsal longitudinal and posterior transverse carinae.

Metasoma: First tergite with longitudinal striae and with median dorsal carina absent; 2 nd and 3 rd tergite almost 1× as long as wide and with scattered punctures; parameres pyramid-shaped ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ).

Color: Head black; antenna brown, with yellow beneath; face white; frons to the basal half white; temple at the basal half white; prothorax white, pronotum white with a black anterior and central part; mesopleuron black with a small white spot below tegula; metapleuron shiny black; legs pale red except for fore coxa, fore trochanter, fore trochantellus, mid coxa, mid trochanter, and mid trochantellus white.

Distribution. Iran (Guilan province).

Etymology. The specific epithet guilanensis relates to the type locality of the new species, Guilan province, Iran.

Ecology remark. Host unknown. Specimens of the new species were collected from sea level in Astaneh Ashrafieh to 537 m a.s.l. in Guilan province, on the north-facing slopes of the Alborz Mountains. This region experiences a humid warm temperate climate with high yearly rainfall.
