Diagnosis. Body yellowish-brown, shiny, head, pronotum and elytra rugose and shortly pubescent. Length 1.60–2.55 mm. Head rhombic, clearly longer than wide, lacking frontal fovea, with shallow vertexal foveae, rostrum straight, obtuse, long, eyes located in middle of length of head capsule, eyes large, prominent, temples long, longer than length of eyes, clypeus large, on sides visible dorsally, head capsule separated from neck by well-defined occipital carina. Antennae with 6 antennomeres, scape minuscule, completely hidden in antennal cavity, dorsally invisible; pedicel slightly transverse, antennal club with 4 antennomeres. Terminal antennomere with setose cavity in truncate apex, short, less than twice as long as antennomere V. Antennomeres III–V longer than pedicel. Pronotum slightly longer than wide, median and lateral fovea shallow or absent, lacking antebasal sulcus. Elytron with trichome opposite trichome on composite tergite or both trichomes absent. Composite tergite shiny, with short, erect setae on posterior part, with small to large basal basin and well-defined, deep basal pits adjacent to first visible paratergites, first paratergite bearing fine trichome. Legs stout, males with mesofemora and mesotibiae bearing large spur.
Sexual dimorphism. Females slightly larger, lacking spines or spurs on mesofemora and mesotibiae.
Distribution. South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia.
