Hydrophis inornatus ( Gray, 1849) View in CoL — Erroneous.
Plain Sea Snake
Singapore records.
Hydrophis inornatus View in CoL — Das, 2010: 320.
Remarks. Das (2010) listed Singapore as part of the distribution for H. inornatus , but we are unsure where he acquired the record from since there are no publications reporting it from Singapore. Voris and Jeffries collected two specimens during their sea snake research in Singapore, but one was taken from the South China Sea, near to Sarawak, and the other was brought to the Kangkar Fish Market with no specific locality recorded and has been excluded (refer to “A note on sea snakes in Singapore ” above). The LKCNHM also has additional specimens from South China Sea and from Horsburgh Lighthouse on Pedra Branca (which have been excluded; refer to “A note on sea snakes in Singapore ” above).
LKCNHM & NHMUK Museum specimens. No specimens.
Additional Singapore museum specimens. No specimens.
