Remarks. Before Smith (1943) removed C. paradisi from the synonymy of C. ornata , records of C. paradisi from Singapore were listed under C. ornata . Nonetheless, C. paradisi was first reported from Singapore by specimens collected by Dennys ( Dennys 1880a; Blanford 1881). Compared to A. prasina , very few specimens of C. paradisi were collected historically, but it was still regarded as common as A. prasina (Hanitsch 1908; Sworder 1923). Much like A. prasina , C. paradisi went unreported for 32 years ( Table 2 View TABLE 2 ) in the time between Buddle (1929) and Harman (1961). There are several museum specimens at LKCNHM from that time period, and Cross (2020n) recorded several individuals in 1944 and 1945 that he misidentified as C. pelias ( Lim 2020) . Chrysopelea paradisi is common throughout Singapore and has been frequently reported since 1985 (see records above), but just like A. prasina , it is uncommon on PT ( Lim et al. 2016). Studies investigating the gliding mechanics of C. paradisi were performed in Singapore (e.g., Socha 2002; Socha & Labarbera 2005; Socha et al. 2010).
Occurrence. Widespread. Common.
Singapore conservation status. Least Concern.
Conservation priority. Lowest.
IUCN conservation status. Least Concern [2022].
