Remarks. Ranoidea caerulea is native to northern and south-eastern Australia, and southern New Guinea ( Cogger 2014). Curiously, R. caerulea is the only amphibian species that can be legally kept as a pet in Singapore (Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore 2017). Despite being a popular captive species, the only documented record of R. caerulea in the wild is from 20 May 2014 when five individuals were all found near one another in LCK ( Low & Mejia 2014). These individuals were captured and donated to LKCNHM. One individual was also seen at RRNP in 2017 (A. Figueroa pers. obs.). As there is no evidence suggesting that R. caerulea has established populations in Singapore, we omit it from Singapore’s herpetofauna checklist.
