Description of Female. Fully winged; length 2.0– 2.2 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous; antenna brown, or completely testaceous, or testaceous, except segments 5–10 brown, or brown, except segment 1 testaceous; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 10:4.5:3.5:3:3.5:4:4.5:3.5:3.5:6. Head dull, granulated and reticulate rugose; frontal line complete; occipital carina complete; POL = 7; OL = 4; OOL = 4; OPL = 3; TL = 3. Pronotum dull, granulated and rugose, with posterior surface much shorter than scutum (3:14); pronotal tubercle reaching tegula. Scutum dull, completely granulated and reticulate rugose, or with irregular longitudinal keels; in specimen from China, 26°53'N 100°18'E, scutum shiny, with surface near anterior margin rugose and rest of surface sculptured by irregular longitudinal keels (surface among these keels smooth and unsculptured); in specimens from China, Naban River National Nature Reserve, scutum completely granulated and smooth. Notauli absent, or hardly visible near anterior margin of scutum. Scutellum and metanotum shiny, smooth, unsculptured; occasionally metanotum rugose. Propodeum dull, reticulate rugose, with a transverse keel between dorsal and posterior surfaces; posterior surface without longitudinal keels. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands (in two specimens from China, Ningxia Hui Nationality Autonomous Region, Mt. Liupanshan area, and China, Naban River National Nature Reserve , fore wing with one weak dark spot beneath pterostigma); distal part of stigmal vein shorter than proximal part (2:6). Protarsal segments in following proportions: 7:1.5:1.5:3:6.5. Enlarged claw ( Plate 35E) with proximal prominence bearing one long bristle. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Plate 35E) with one–two rows of bristles, or with about 4 lamellae + 2 bristles; distal apex with one–two lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

Distribution. China (Hainan, Guizhou, Taiwan, Xizang, Yunnan, Ningxia), Malaysia (Sabah), Thailand (Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son), Viet Nam (Lào Cai, Lam Dong).

Remarks. The female of A. metuendum is very similar to that of Anteon jurineanum Latreille, 1804. They can be distinguished for the different length of the notauli (reaching 0.5–0.3 length of scutum in jurineanum ; absent or very shortly present near anterior margin of scutum in metuendum ).
