Description of female ( Plate 126A View PLATE 126 ): apterous; length 6.2–7.5 mm. Head black, except mandible and lateral regions of clypeus yellow; antenna black, in some specimens with segment 1 brown-yellow; mesoosma and metasoma black; legs black, except tarsi testaceous; in some specimens coxae, clubs of femora and tibiae reddish. Antenna clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 17:10:36:30:22:22:20:16:14:15. Head ( Plate 126B View PLATE 126 ) excavated, shiny, smooth, unsculptured; occipital carina absent. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, crossed by strong transverse impression, with disc not regularly rounded, but posteriorly compressed into median longitudinal carina. Scutum dull, sculptured by some longitudinal keels. Metanotum transversely striate. Metathorax + propodeum ( Plate 126C View PLATE 126 ) shiny, with anterior surface unsculptured and posterior surface transversely striate. Mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural obsolete. Protarsal segments in following proportions: 26:4:10:32:46. Enlarged claw ( Plate 126F View PLATE 126 ) with one small subapical tooth and one row of eight peg-like hairs. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Plate 126F View PLATE 126 ) with inner side proximally not serrated, with two rows of 36–46 lamellae beginning in proximal third of segment 5; distal apex with at least 15–17 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Male. Unknown.

Material examined. Types: ♀ holotype of H. cristatus : PHILIPPINES: Negros Island, Cuernos Mountains ( USNM) ; ♀ holotype of M. birmanus : MYANMAR: Yangon Division, Pegu (= Pegù; = Bago), Palon , VIII–IX.1887, leg. L. Fea ( MCSNG) .

Hosts. Unknown.

Distribution. Philippines (Negros), Myanmar (Yangon).

Remarks. The record from India, Orissa, reported in Fiori (1984) is related to Gonatopus superbus Olmi.
