Gonatopus cantonensis Olmi 1987c: 66 ; He & Xu 2002: 332.
Description of Female. Apterous; length 3.1–4.6 mm. Testaceous-brown, except antennal segments 7–10, scutellum, petiole and posterior half of metasoma darkened. In small specimen (3.1 mm) from Thailand, Maerim, head brown, except mandible, clypeus and anterior region of face testaceous; ventral side of head testaceous; antenna brown, except segments 1–2 and 5–8 testaceous; mesosoma brown-testaceous, except scutum and posterior extremity of propodeum testaceous; metasoma brown; legs brown, except chela and meso- and metatarsus testaceous. Very large specimen (4.6 mm) from China, Taiwan, Wushe, totally yellow-testaceous, except antennal segments 9–10 brown. Antenna slightly clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 9:5:13:7:6:6:6:5:5:6. Head excavated, shiny, weakly granulated; face with two lateral areas unsculptured; frontal line incomplete, only present in posterior half of face; occipital carina incomplete, only shortly present behind ocellar triangle; POL = 1; OL = 2.5; OOL = 7. Palpal formula 6/3. In specimen from Thailand, Maerim, head strongly granulated and frontal line complete. Pronotum crossed by strong transverse impression, shiny, smooth and unsculptured. Scutum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, laterally with two pointed apophyses near scutellum. Scutellum shiny, smooth, unsculptured. Mesopleuron and metapleuron unsculptured, not transversely striate. Metanotum smooth, shiny, unsculptured, hollow behind scutellum, with sides rising to lateral rounded protrusion ( Plate 125E View PLATE 125 ). Metathorax + propodeum shiny, with anterior surface unsculptured and posterior surface transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsal segments in following proportions: 12:3:4:16:22. Enlarged claw ( Plate 125F View PLATE 125 ) with one small subapical tooth and three–six peg-like hairs. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Plate 125F View PLATE 125 ) with inner margin proximally shortly serrated and with two rows of 33–34 lamellae; distal apex with 8–15 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Material examined. Type: holotype ♀: CHINA: Guangdong, Guangzhou , 26.VI.1983, Z. Bouček leg. ( BMNH) . Other material. CHINA: Taiwan, Nantou, Wushe , 1000 m, 27.V.1990, in deciduous forest, J. Heraty leg., 1♀ ( DEUCR) . THAILAND: Chiang Mai Prov., Maerim , 1♀ ( RABC) .
