Gloeocapsa sp. 2 ( Fig. 8N View FIGURE 8 ).
Colonies round to amorphous, 50.13–78.96 µm diam. Sub-colonies up to 4 cells, 10.94–14.43 µm wide. Sheath firm or diffluent, non-lamellated, hyaline or orange to brown. Cells spherical, 3.19–5.75 (6.25) µm wide. Individual envelopes firm, 0.62–1.96 µm wide, non-lamellated, hyaline or orange to brown. Cell content homogeneous to granulated, grayish. Without cell in resting stage.
Habitat:— Tree bark; associated with Nostoc interbryum .
Notes:— The cell dimensions, content color, and sheath color differs this morphotype from other Gloeocapsa species.
