Chlorogloea sp.3 ( Fig. 9J View FIGURE 9 ).
Colonies round to amorphous. Sub-colonies rounded, 5.75–21.96 µm diam. Sheath firm, smooth, thin, hyaline or inconspicuous. Cells in radial rows or densely arranged, sphaerical, 1.73–3.64 µm diam. Cell content homogenous, blue-green. Without cells in resting stage.
Habitat:— Tree bark.
Notes:— The corticolous habitat and cell dimensions differ this morphotype from other Chlorogloea species.
Studied material:— PEUFR 55784, PEUFR 56641
Chroococcidiopsidales Komárek, Kaštovský, Mareš et Johansen (2014:311).
Chroococcidiopsis aff. kashayi Friedmann (1961) ( Fig. 9K–P View FIGURE 9 ).
Colonies round or solitary cells, 8.06–20.46 µm diam. Sheath firm, conspicuous, 0.39–1.32 µm wide, smooth, non-lamellated, greenish-yellow or brown to reddish-brown. Cell spherical to hemispherical, 2.77-7-33 µm wide. Cell content homogenous, blue-green. Individual envelopes firm, 0.4–1.36 µm wide, smooth, non-lamellated, yellowish-brown to reddish-brown. Presence of baeocytes.
Habitat:— Clay brick.
Notes:— The morphotype has a life cycle that resembles Chroococcidiopsis kashayi Friedmann , from which it differs by sheath color and habitat ( Friedmann, 1961).
Studied material:— PEUFR 55817
