Schizothrix telephoroides Gomont (1890: 319) ( Fig. 7K–L View FIGURE 7 ).
Filaments solitary, 11.22–28.33 µm wide. Sheath firm, 1.18–8.32 µm wide, two or more lamellae, hyaline to intense red. Trichomes up to 3 per sheath, unbranched, slightly constricted. Cells isodiametric to sub-quadratic, 5–6.81 µm wide, 3.87–8.01 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.95. Apical cell rounded to conical-rounded, without thickening or calyptra. Cell content granulated, blue-green, with distinct chromatoplasma. With necridia.
Habitat:— Soil associate to Porphyrosiphon ceylanicus .
