Type material.

ZMB 101829, one syntype; ex Rolle.

Remarks.

Strebel described this form from three specimens, of which one is housed in the ZMB collection. The specimen has labels both in Martens’ and Strebel’s handwriting, and corresponds to the figured specimen by Martens. The current systematic position is following Thompson (2011). Note that Zebra maclurae turrita Strebel, 1909 is a junior homonym of Zebra quagga turrita Strebel, 1909, and a senior homonym of Zebra sphinx turrita Strebel, 1909.
